Ajman’s Department of Finance has approved a programme of 15 artificial-intelligence initiatives to be implemented from 2027 to 2029. The announcement concerns a staged development plan for government financial operations; it does not mean that fifteen new public services became available on the day of approval.
The plan and its timetable
WAM reported on 26 October that Sheikh Ahmed bin Humaid Al Nuaimi approved three packages containing five initiatives each, with five initiatives scheduled annually over the three-year period. The programme covers areas including planning and decision support, procurement, asset management and financial oversight.
The announcement also reviewed smart solutions introduced during the first half of 2026, including supplier registration and financial risk and advisory tools. Those earlier developments are distinct from the future programme. No general instruction for every supplier to switch immediately to a new platform was established in the report.
Why the distinction matters to suppliers
CYUAE interpretation: technology plans can create unnecessary confusion when an approval headline is treated as an operational instruction. A supplier needs to know the actual channel for a particular transaction, the information requested and the effective requirements at the time of submission.

The sensible response is to keep existing supplier records accurate and monitor official service notices. It would be premature to pay an intermediary for access to an assumed new system merely because an AI programme has been announced.
What successful financial automation would require
A useful assessment asks what changes in the workflow. Does a tool reduce repeated entry? Does it improve the visibility of a decision or make an exception easier to resolve? Can staff establish where a figure came from and correct it if the underlying record is wrong?
These are CYUAE’s evaluation questions, not performance results claimed for the announced programme. They focus attention on the connection between data quality, human responsibility and service outcomes instead of treating the label “AI” as proof of improvement.
What to watch through the rollout
Look for the names and scope of individual initiatives, release dates, service guidance and evidence of measured outcomes. When a new process affects a business, preserve the official notice and the version of instructions used for the transaction.

The announcement provides a timetable and broad priorities. The later test is whether each release improves a defined task and explains clearly what employees, customers or suppliers need to do differently.
