What the model includes
Arrival cash
Travel, shipping, documents, deposits, intermediary fees, setup and temporary accommodation are charged before month one. Deposits count as cash tied up, even when potentially refundable.
Monthly life, scheduled rent
Baseline monthly cost = annual rent ÷ 12 + ongoing household costs. The calendar instead pays rent in equal instalments, starting in month one. The same schedule repeats within the chosen twelve-month maximum.
A protected reserve
Required starting cash covers the largest cumulative funding gap plus your chosen months of baseline costs. Expenses are paid before income in each month. The reserve is an editable planning choice, not a universal recommendation.
School and insurance fields are monthly cash reserves, not invoice schedules. Replace them if those items are paid upfront and avoid double counting. The model does not refund deposits, earn interest, model exchange rates or assess a visa. Income is assumed to start and remain constant in the month you enter.
